Hosting the football finals in the largest Games venue (90,000 capacity National Stadium), directing a site wide workforce of 7500, during 15 days of competition, across 3 sports in 2 Olympic venues, hosting c.750,000 spectators. Included oversight of Wembley Arena & Precinct event space.
Accountable for all aspects of operational planning, readiness testing and mobilisation of the Games time venues, directing activities of all operational functional areas to ensure the safe and effective operation of the competition venues to safety certificate conditions, reporting to the LOCOG Board on issues and risks.
As the senior Organising Committee lead, oversaw the delivery to the key stakeholders of the IOC, FIFA and the Olympic Broadcast Service, and directing the relationship management of the existing venue operators, local government stakeholders, emergency service commanders and their local authority. Delivered an integrated operation across the Wembley site venues, site hotel accommodation, event spaces and transport hubs.
Cluster lead to the 5 UK football tournament - Venue General Managers for Millennium Stadium, Hampden Park, Old Trafford, St. James’ Park, City of Coventry & Wembley Arena.

Built a large high performance operational team of 18 managers, for 11 of the 34 competition venues across the UK.
Led detailed UK wide Venue Operational Planning: Rowing & Canoe Sprint; Sailing; Mountain Biking; Canoe Slalom; Badminton & Rhythmic Gymnastics, & 6 football stadia.
Development of the Venue Management function to include work stream & forward operational planning and milestones; determination of delivery strategies; venue organisational structures and team recruitment.
Regional role engaging with Host Boroughs and Cities outside of London, supporting the LOCOG City Operations, Nations and Regions and the Government Olympic Executive. This included live site activations, accommodation, and training facilities, and ensure regional engagement in the Games.
Production of Venue Operations Manuals and licensing documentation to secure certification with 10 UK Safety Advisory Groups.
